Epistemology 5751 The Proof for Existence of God
Introduction Religion has always been a controversial topic as some of the people are very conservative about their religious beliefs; meanwhile the others do not really pay much attention to religion. On the other hand, there are also many people who do not believe in any such thing as religion and are of the point of view that one should only have good morals. There are many different religions in the world. The teachings and practices of all these religions are not the same, however the thing that is common to all the religions is the fact that the people who follow any religion believe that God exists. Atheists, on the contrary, do not have any such beliefs and this is the main reason why they are known to not follow any religion. Therefore, the main issue that will be discussed in this paper is pertaining to the existence of God and whether or not a person can be morally correct without being religious or without being a follower of a specific religion. Some of the other aspects, like the intersection of science and religion, will also be discussed in the paper. Proof for existence of God Since most of the arguments pertaining to religion stem from the basic question regarding the existence of God, it is important for us to discuss whether or not the proof of existence of God is necessary or not. None of us have seen God and there is no doubt about it. However, most of us do believe that God does exist and He takes care of this world and the human beings who

Analysis Of Schizophrenic Narrative By Lee R. Edwards...
Mathew Winston claims humorous narrators are irrational and full of multiple selves by stating ââ¬Å"Traditional comedy assumes that the self, or, less abstractly, each individual finds fulfillment as part of a larger whole, in the company of complementary and like-minded individualsâ⬠(394). Readers and characters are consciously aware of the irrationality. Furthermore, in ââ¬Å"Schizophrenic Narrativeâ⬠by Lee R. Edwards, he views schizophrenia in narratives as purely linguistic and a ââ¬Å"locus of both a challenge and fascinationâ⬠(28). In a suitable manner, readers are incorporating this maddening disorder due to the stylistic mode the authors are using, ââ¬Å"by virtue of their inability to define, express, or experience themselves as self-sufficient monadsâ⬠(Edwards 28). Especially, when reading a story told by an unreliable first-person narrator who is humorous. This idea of schizophrenia is not only in the narrators, but also the readers. Reading is the act of reading words on pages, seeing images brought by writers, and coming up with more words and images in oneââ¬â¢s own head. Seeing it purely in that context, it is irrational, but of course, reading too, is a way people can live, understand, and think through another lifeââ¬âreal or not. A.H.W.O.S.G. is Eggersââ¬â¢ first book, and Doctorowââ¬â¢s Andrewââ¬â¢s Brain, was his last, yet they both share these similar traits of dissociation manifested through their characters. The story ends when Lucy gets out of detention and walks to meet Bethan. c. The events in this story seen from Penny Jonesââ¬â¢ point of view: ââ¬Å"So, I was quite surprised when Lucy came to talk to me today, actually, I was surprised at the moment she even looked at me, and even more surprised, actually I was pretty happy (pathetic, I know) when she told me to meet her at the subway. We used to be pretty close, in my case, possible the closest I ever had to a best friend. I guess I shouldââ¬â¢ve known already there, that it wasnââ¬â¢t because she wanted to talk to me or anything in that case, because really, we havenââ¬â¢t been talking for quite a while now. I blame that girl, Bethan Preece. I donââ¬â¢t like her. She kind of made it at mission to humiliate as many as possible. She is a bad influence on Lucy, who used to be such a nice girl. I recognize the way Lucy is looking at Bethan; it is scaring me to death. It is kind of like looking in a mirror; because thatââ¬â¢s the way I usually look at people when I would like to be their friend. Lucy has been looking at Bethan for a while that way now, and Iââ¬â¢m sure that Lucy would do anything to prove herself Bethanââ¬â¢s best friend. I guess I got that one proved this afternoon. So when I got off school today, I headed directly at the subway, I was kind of nervous, because I didnââ¬â¢t know what to expect. The moment I saw her there, I wanted to turn around, because I had no idea what to say to her. I mean, what do you say to an old friend, youââ¬â¢re not really sure about? Well I just said ââ¬Å"hiâ⬠, and I felt like an idiot in the exact moment the word left my lips. I should have said something a bit cooler, but I didnââ¬â¢t know what. She was a bit tense, her smiled was a little strained. But she just said ââ¬Å"hi, how are you doing, howââ¬â¢s school? â⬠, and acting kind of normal. Then people started coming, and suddenly her eyes looked a little sad, and then POW she hit me in the stomach. â⬠I make a grimace and a fact as I said the word, and looked over at Dr. Phillips. ââ¬Å"Please continue,â⬠he said, looking a little bored. ââ¬Å"It is just, that is brings back some kind of hard memories, because my father used to hit my mother, and it have affected me emotional. â⬠I felt at tear drop from my nose and down on the floor. I looked away from him and continued: ââ¬Å"So, I had no idea what to do, I just felt the tears trickle down my chins. I felt embarrassed, humiliated, and really bad, so I just turned around and started running, I didnââ¬â¢t stop until I was home, where I told my mother, and I ran to my room, just to do the routine cry in my pillow. That sucks. ââ¬
